Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Swarakshit Gas Leak Detector, installation, and how it keeps your family safe.

Answers to Common Questions

Which gases does it detect? (LPG, CNG, smoke?)

Swarakshit is engineered specifically to detect combustible gases like LPG (cylinder gas) and PNG/CNG (piped natural gas). Its highly calibrated sensors will trigger long before these gases reach explosive levels. Please note: it does not detect smoke or carbon monoxide (CO). It is designed to prevent gas leak disasters.

How hard is it to install?

Installation takes less than 2 minutes and requires zero technical expertise. It comes with a simple wall-mount bracket and double-sided adhesive. Just stick it to the wall near your gas cylinder or stove, plug it into a standard power outlet, and it begins monitoring immediately.

Does it work during a power outage?

Yes! Safety should never take a break. Swarakshit features a robust built-in rechargeable battery backup that keeps the device monitoring your kitchen for up to 8–10 hours even during complete grid blackouts.

How does the smart integration work?

Swarakshit connects seamlessly to your home Wi-Fi. Once linked to your network, if a leak is detected, the device will sound a piercing 85dB localized alarm while simultaneously pushing a high-priority notification directly to your devices—wherever you are in the world.

Where is the best place to install the detector?

For optimal performance with LPG (which is heavier than air), install the detector low on the wall, about 1 foot above the floor and within 1-2 meters of your gas cylinder or stove. If using PNG (lighter than air), mount it higher up, about 1 foot below the ceiling.

How long does the battery last?

The internal battery provides 8–10 hours of continuous backup monitoring during a power cut. It charges automatically while plugged in, so it's always ready when you need it.

Is there a warranty or return policy?

Yes! Every Swarakshit detector comes with a comprehensive 1-year manufacturer's warranty against defects. We also offer a 30-day return policy if you aren't completely satisfied with your purchase.

What happens if I change my Wi-Fi network?

If you get a new router or change your Wi-Fi password, simply reset the device's Wi-Fi settings using the reset button on the unit and follow the 60-second pairing process to connect it to your new network.
