Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to Common Questions
Which gases does it detect?
Swarakshit is engineered specifically to detect combustible gases like LPG (cylinder gas), PNG/CNG (piped natural gas), and methane. Please note: it does not detect smoke or carbon monoxide (CO). It is designed to instantly pinpoint combustible gas leaks.
How do I use the Swarakshit gas leak tester?
Using it is incredibly simple. Just turn it on, wait a few seconds for it to warm up, and then slowly move the sensor tip near your gas cylinder valve, regulator, stove knobs, or PNG pipe joints. If it detects a leak, the LCD screen will turn red, display \"Hi\", and a loud alarm will sound instantly.
Does it need to be plugged into a wall outlet?
No! The Swarakshit tester is completely portable and wireless. It runs on 2 standard AAA batteries. This makes it perfect for carrying around your kitchen to inspect different gas connections or even taking it with you to check other locations.
What does the LCD display show?
The digital LCD screen provides clear visual feedback. In normal conditions, it displays the ambient room temperature (e.g., 24°C) with a green backlight. When a gas leak is detected, the backlight turns bright red, a warning icon appears, and the screen prominently displays \"Hi\".
Do I need to install or mount this on my wall?
No installation is required. Swarakshit is a handheld, pen-style inspection tool. You do not leave it running continuously on a wall. Instead, you keep it handy in a drawer and use it to instantly check for leaks whenever you change a cylinder, suspect a leak, or want to perform a routine safety check.
How long do the batteries last?
Since the device is used intermittently for quick checks rather than being left on 24/7, a single pair of standard AAA batteries will last for hundreds of tests over many months. We recommend replacing them if the display appears dim or if the device fails to power on.
Is this device certified for safety?
Yes! The Swarakshit Gas Leak Tester is LERC Approved. It has been rigorously tested and certified by India's top gas safety authority to ensure accurate and reliable detection of LPG and PNG leaks in home kitchens and commercial settings.
What warranty does Swarakshit come with?
Every Swarakshit device comes with a comprehensive 1-year manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects. If you face any issue with the device, reach out to our team via the contact page and we will assist you promptly.
